Can I use my insurance for counseling?

What insurances do you take?

Many of our clients use their health insurance to cover counseling sessions. Our team members are in network with most plans through BCBS*, Medcost, Aetna*, and CBHA. Each provider's network status may vary, so please use our Navigating Insurance Guide to obtain accurate information about your coverage for services!

If I don't have an in-network insurance plan, or choose not to use insurance, how much does counseling cost?

Many of our clients with out-of-network insurance plans find that they are still able to use their out-of-network benefits to cover some of their out-of-pocket costs. This depends on your specific plan details. We encourage you to contact your insurance company to find out more about your coverage. This handout can help you know what to ask when you contact them.

For clients who'd like to use their out-of-network benefits, we will provide you with a document called a "Superbill" that contains all the information you would need to file a claim for reimbursement with your insurance company.

Please read more about out-of-network and private-pay billing on our Rates & Insurance page.

We are able to offer a limited number of reduced rate sessions for clients when need arises, and address this on a case-by-case basis.

What happens if I'm not able to complete my intake information before our first meeting?

We require that all new clients' intake information is completed no later than 24 hours before their first visit. This allows us enough time to make sure we have the information we need to begin the therapy process with a solid start.

If you're unable to complete your intake information prior your first visit, your appointment time will be made available to other clients on our waitlist, and we will work with you to reschedule your intake session.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

How late can I make changes to my scheduled appointment?

Any cancellation or reschedule request with less than 48 hours notice is subject to a $65 fee. "No-show" sessions will be billed at their full out-of-pocket rate. If circumstances are extreme (emergency, illness), these fees may be waived on a case-by-case basis.

After any combination of three (3) late cancellation and/or no-shows, clients are required to make a $100 deposit prior to scheduling any further sessions.

Clients are entitled to one elective fee waiver per 12-month period.

How do I know this will work for me?

How is this any different from just thinking through things or talking about my problems & goals with a friend?

We bring a wealth of experience, knowledge, training, and state- and nationally-certified credentials to the table every time we meet with someone.

Our team has been trained in the science and arts of listening, understanding, assessing, and reflecting in a non-judgmental way to your concerns. This means that you won't be met with criticism, interrogation, false hopes, sugar-coating, or a list of "should's."

We rely on methods that are backed by extensive research to help clients effectively overcome challenges and pursue their goals. We constantly monitor how well sessions are going, and learn from your feedback about what's working. This means we can help notice when things aren't working, too, and change course accordingly.

If you're ready to turn talking into doing, and thinking into creating, contact us today.
